116-room hotel will enhance passenger convenience, support tourism and strengthen the airport’s role as an economic driver for Indian River County

VERO BEACH, FL, UNITED STATES, October 23, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Vero Beach Regional Airport (VRB) is marking another milestone in its continued growth following the Vero Beach City Council’s Oct. 13 approval of a lease agreement for the development of a four-story, 116-room Marriott hotel on airport property. The project represents a significant private investment in the airport’s future and reinforces its expanding role as a regional transportation hub and catalyst for economic development along Florida’s Treasure Coast.
“Vero Beach Regional Airport continues to evolve, and this development represents an important step in creating an airport that serves general aviation, our passengers and the broader community,” said Airport Director Brandon Dambeck. “As commercial air service grows as a community asset, we are focused on making the travel experience more convenient while maximizing the airport’s role as a major economic engine along the Treasure Coast. Bringing a nationally recognized hotel brand to airport property strengthens our ability to serve travelers, attract business, and support the long-term goals of the Vero Beach Airport.”
Located along Aviation Boulevard, adjacent to the Jackie Robinson Training Complex, the proposed hotel will provide convenient accommodations for airline passengers, flight crews, business travelers, and visitors to Indian River County. The development is expected to complement the airport’s growing commercial airline service while creating new opportunities to support tourism, business activity, and the surrounding community.
Vero Beach has a unique combination of aviation, tourism, and youth sports that makes this an ideal location for what we are creating,” said Cary Goldberg, President of Diversified Companies. “The proximity to Vero Beach Regional Airport and the Jackie Robinson Training Complex gives us an opportunity to develop a hotel specifically designed around the needs of travelers, teams, and families. We are excited to bring a Marriott-branded hotel and a significant private investment to Vero Beach, and we appreciate the City’s partnership and confidence in our vision for the project.”
The proposed development comes as VRB continues to expand its commercial aviation offerings. The airport currently serves passengers through Breeze Airways, JetBlue, and American Airlines, providing connections to destinations throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast. This expanding air service has strengthened the airport’s accessibility and created additional opportunities to attract visitors and business investment.
“Quality airport infrastructure extends beyond runways and terminal facilities. Projects like this help create the amenities that businesses, investors, and visitors expect when evaluating a community,” said Brian Cartland, Vice President of Economic Development for the Indian River County Chamber of Commerce. “The addition of a nationally recognized hotel brand at Vero Beach Regional Airport will enhance the travel experience, support existing employers, and strengthen the airport’s role as a driver of economic growth and opportunity throughout Indian River County.”
Beyond serving airline passengers, the hotel is expected to support the region’s growing sports tourism industry, particularly visitors attending tournaments and events at the nearby Jackie Robinson Training Complex. The proposed development will also feature amenities designed to accommodate families, business travelers, and extended-stay guests, including a baseball-themed entertainment experience.
The project builds upon VRB’s broader economic development strategy, which includes attracting commercial investment, supporting aviation-related businesses and maximizing opportunities for development on airport property. According to a 2019 Florida Department of Transportation economic impact study, VRB generated approximately $1.32 billion in annual economic activity and supported more than 5,500 jobs, demonstrating its longstanding importance to the regional economy.
According to the developer, construction is anticipated to begin in 2027, with completion expected by the end of 2028. The hotel development represents another step toward realizing VRB’s long-term vision of providing modern aviation facilities and complementary commercial services that support economic opportunity while preserving the character and quality of life of the Vero Beach community.
