This is the the first Forrester WAPP Landscape report. The new market category defines WAPP as “Unified, integrated platforms that examine input to and responses from web applications, mobile apps, and APIs to filter application traffic according to defined policies; to detect and block application attacks, volumetric attacks, business logic attacks, and AI attacks; and to recommend and enforce security policies based on attack signatures, protocol standards, and anomaly detection.”

These are three use cases, beyond the core ones, that the vendor wants customers to recognize as its areas of focus.
