Mankato, MN, November 4, 2026 —

Western Technical College (Western Tech) and Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSU-Mankato) have announced a new partnership aimed at facilitating the academic progression of nursing students from La Crosse, Wisconsin. This collaboration will enable these students to pursue and complete their bachelor’s degrees in nursing.

The initiative seeks to provide a clear pathway for students who have completed their initial nursing education at Western Tech to continue their studies towards a higher degree without significant disruption. While specific details regarding the program structure, curriculum integration, and commencement dates were not provided, the partnership is designed to leverage the strengths of both institutions.

MSU-Mankato, located in Mankato, Minnesota, is known for its robust nursing programs, while Western Technical College, serving the La Crosse area, offers foundational nursing education. The collaboration is intended to streamline the transfer process, allowing students to build upon their existing academic foundation and earn a bachelor of science in nursing (BSN) degree.

The number of students expected to benefit from this partnership or the specific academic requirements for entry into the bachelor’s program beyond an initial nursing education at Western Tech were not disclosed. Further information regarding enrollment, program timelines, and any unique aspects of the curriculum is anticipated to be made available by the institutions.

This educational alliance represents an effort to enhance access to advanced nursing education for students in the La Crosse region, addressing the demand for qualified nursing professionals with bachelor’s-level training.
